Dual Enrollment
LSSC’s Dual Enrollment Programs provides college readiness opportunities for secondary students through college credit programs. Detailed information about each program can be found at lssc.edu/DE.
Dual Enrollment Programs
Lake-Sumter State College offers students the opportunity to earn college credits while completing high school requirements in partnership with local schools.
These programs include:
- Dual Enrollment (6th-12th grade)- Allows students to take college courses on a part-time basis.
- Early Admission (12th grade)- Allows students to take college courses on a full-time basis.
- SLS Pilot (6th-12th grade)- Provides students the opportunity to take SLS 1122: Introduction to College Success, without needing to meet traditional dual enrollment requirements
- PERT Pilot (6th-12th grade)- Provides students the opportunity to take limited dual enrollment courses if they pass two out of the three sections of the college readiness exams.
Early College Academies
Lake-Sumter State College offers structured dual enrollment programs that allow students to earn a college certificate or degree while completing high school requirements. These programs also include a variety of experiential learning opportunities.
- Health Sciences Collegiate Academy (9th-12th grade)- An AA-track program in collaboration with local area hospitals to provide students with courses and activities in health sciences and STEM professions.
- Lake County Early College Academy (11th-12th grade)- An AA-track program in collaboration with Lake County Schools for students to earn their AA while in high school.
- Sumter Early College Academy (11th-12th grade)- An AA-track program in collaboration with Sumter County Schools for students to earn their AA while in high school.
- The Villages Early College Academy (11th-12th grade) - An AA-track program at the Villages High School that allows students to complete their college degree at the high school site.
