Textbook and Course Materials Affordability and Transparency

Lake‑Sumter State College promotes affordability and transparency in the selection and disclosure of textbooks and instructional materials in accordance with Florida Administrative Code Rule 6A‑14.092. Required and recommended course materials are selected with consideration of academic quality, cost, and long‑term usability, including low‑ or no‑cost options when appropriate.

To support informed registration decisions, LSSC publishes required and recommended textbooks and instructional materials for at least 95 percent of course sections no later than forty‑five (45) days prior to the start of each academic term through College‑designated, public‑facing systems. In addition, course syllabi are posted at least forty‑five (45) days before the first day of class, except as permitted by state rule, and include required components such as course curriculum, evaluation methods, identification of required instructional materials, and an overview of assignments.
