New Student Orientation
New Student Advising and Registration (NSAR) is a required orientation for first-time-in-college students and an essential step toward a successful transition to college life. NSAR provides new students with the opportunity to connect with staff from Academic Advising, Admissions, and Financial Aid, as well as fellow students beginning their college journey.
During NSAR, students are introduced to the tools, resources, and information they need to succeed at LSSC, including the development of a personalized Student Educational Plan (SEP) to guide first-semester course selection and academic planning.
Key Components of NSAR Include:
- The Registration Handbook
- Course selection and scheduling support
- Introduction to online tools and student resources
- Overview of important college policies and procedures
To learn more about NSAR or to register for a session, please visit the orientation webpage. While NSAR is required for first-time-in-college students, transfer students are encouraged complete an NSAR session, although not required.
